Red Willow Lake Outpost

Red Willow Lake cabin Red Willow Lake outpost is located on the Poplar River system less than two miles from the Manitoba - Ontario border. Red Willow features picturesque east rapids with a drop of over 100 feet (30.5m). This lake features some of the finest fishing in Manitoba and holds trophy walleye, northern pike, and perch. Red Willow is ten miles (16km) long with average depths running from twelve to fourteen feet (3.7-4.3m). The deepest water to be found here is forty feet (12m).

Cabin Details

Inside Red Willow Lake cabin
Two fully modern cabins with a total capacity of 12. Both have screen porches, fully equipped kitchens with electric fridge/freezers, gas stoves, hot & cold running water, and indoor toilets & showers. Capacity: 12 people

Boats/Motors

The outcamp has four 14' aluminum boats with swivel seats & 8 h.p. motors. We supply life cushions & jackets (large & extra large only), nets, anchors, paddles and mixed gas. There are also 2 portage boats available.

Guests staying at Red Willow Lake Outcamp will drive from Winnipeg to the float facility in Pine Dock, Manitoba (2.5 hours) followed by a direct float plane ride to the outpost.

  • We are the only outfitter on the lake.
  • We recommend bringing a satellite phone for communication purposes.
  • The cabins are centrally located with south-east exposures.
  • There are a propane BBQ and propane fish cooker.
  • There are large fridge/freezers in the kitchens but no chest freezers.
  • You can portage into several other nearby lakes where boats and motors are provided.
  • Walleye average 16"-21" (41-53cm) and Northern Pike average 27"-37" (69-94cm), with many master anglers.
  • There is solar power electricity (110 volt) and a gas generator for backup power.
  • There is a wood stove for heat with ample firewood provided.

  • Paper goods and cleaning supplies are also provided.

  • Maximum weight allowed per person is 100 lbs. Additional charges will apply to overweight issues.
